FULL DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING CONTENTS
IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE TRAINING: (EN)
Students who will participate need to have interest or knowledge about the montessori system, the background and pedagogy.
The objectives are Montessori, education and traveling, citizenship, and the latest scientific insight.
The methodology is a 5 days course in an international group. During these days you get lectures, workshops, and a historical tour. Every day there is time for intervision and discussion. At the end there is an assignment and a presentation.Assignment associated with the Montessori Introduction Course


During the course you will learn a lot about Maria Montessori.
At the end we will organize the final ‘pitch’, this is a short presentation (maximum 15 minutes). You can do this alone, or with groups.
The content of the pitch:
- Who was Maria Montessori?
- The person
- The pedagogy
- The didactics
- The anthropology
- The education
- Connect the vision of Montessori with your own life and vision on education.
For the participants from MIC a special e-mailadress is made. We keep talking and learning after the course ends.
 
PROGRAMME OF THE TRAINING ACTIVITIES (DAY BY DAY)
Monday

4 p.m.
Welcome and get together
Short presentation of the participants

Fingerfood and drinks.

1st Course: Montessori, the antropology, the method, and the pedagogical background.

Tuesday

Schoolvisit to a Montessori school for 0 to 4 years.

Workshop: Working with materials for sensorial development.

Lunch

2nd Course: The development of the child
in relation to independancy.

Wednesday

Excursion: Visit to Association Montessori International, including the study of Dr. Montessori and the material room.

3rd Course: Montessori, the didactics, working with materials. Materials for the language and mathematic development.

Picnic in the vondelpark

4th Course: The life of Maria Montessori.
Excursion: visit to Anne Frankhouse

Thursday

School visit by choice: 3-6 or 6-12 years.

5th Course: Walking the line: how movement stimulates the cognitive functions.

Presentation of the assignment.

Boat trip through the canals of Amsterdam ending at a special restaurant for dinner.
Official distribution of the Montessori certificate and closing dinner.

Friday

Check-out,
Opportunity to visit Nienhuis, the showroom of montessori materials. Zelhem (2 ½ hours by train)
