FULL DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING CONTENTS
IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE TRAINING: (EN)
Participants familiarize themselves with the course platform, study the recommended readings and select (local) content and/or topics to be elaborated when developing activities and materials during the course. To optimize the relevance of the course materials participants will be asked to complete an online intake questionnaire.
The aim of the course is to enhance participants' skills related to the effective use of Interactive Whiteboards (IWB) and to promote language teacher professionalism in selecting, adapting and designing materials to support the integration of IWB in communicative language teaching.
The course combines theoretical sessions on methodologies related to communicative and task-based language teaching with practical workshops. To support actual skill development the emphasis is on hands-on training sessions and the development of competences for IWB-supported teaching.
To this end a number of IWB-equipped training rooms will be available, allowing individual and small group, hands-on activities such as trying out materials and related teaching skills.
To address the anticipated variety in needs (in terms of target language, educational sector, board brand etc.) participants will also be offered special interest break-out sessions.
To extend their options for personal continuing professional development and peer networking participants will be stimulated to join the IWB community of practice at the iTILT website.
It will allow them to continue to share and collaboratively develop IWB materials for specific modern languages and/or educational sectors. This will also serve the needs of colleagues working with IWB brands other than SMARTboard and PROMETHEAN for which most of the iTILT project materials used in this course were designed.
