FULL DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING CONTENTS
IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE TRAINING: (EN)
Participants familiarize themselves with the course platform, study the recommended readings and select (local) content and/or topics to be elaborated when developing activities and materials during the course. To optimize the relevance of the course materials participants will be asked to complete an online questionnaire.
The aim of the course is to promote participants' professionalism in the use of ICT tools, WEB 2.0 and social software, including 3D virtual worlds and video web conferencing for the development of their students' oral proficiency.
The course combines theoretical sessions on methodologies for computer mediated oral proficiency development with hands-on training and workshops. The focus is not on the technological aspects, but on teacher competences involved in designing and moderating activities using a number of ICT-tools and web applications relevant for networked and task-based language learning. Participants are actively involved and supported to develop - individually and/or in small groups - language activities and collaborative projects for use in their teaching practice.
To support participants in realising telecollaborative projects and enable them to pilot ideas and course materials in their local contexts they will be provided with a period of post-course free access to the 2D and 3D environments introduced during the course.
Participants opting for additional credits are expected to report on try-outs of (jointly) designed materials in their own teaching context. Or, alternatively, carry out further (literature) research and/or materials development related to one of the course topics.
