FULL DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING CONTENTS
IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE TRAINING: (EN)
- Welcome information
- Programme handbook
- Participants will be asked to complete a questionnaire prior to arrival indicating their level of experience and the ages and nationalities of the learners they have taught
The course for Non-native Teachers of English is aimed at non-vocational teachers and trainers of adults and focuses on practical teaching ideas and activities. It will also enable participants to improve their own language skills.
The course will help participants to develop professionally by exploring their own experience and sharing ideas with like-minded teachers from other countries.
The aim of this course is to give participants ideas to help them bring more variety into their classroom management and teaching techniques combined with an insight into British life and culture.
Participants will have the opportunity to gain a huge variety of new teaching ideas and motivating materials ready to use in the classroom and to improve their own language skills.
The course is hands-on and interactive, enabling participants to be fully immersed in the subject matter. There is a combination of formal lectures, discussion groups, practical exercises and workshops.
Trainer-led sessions use the techniques and approaches being discussed so that the practical application of methods can be experienced within the programme.
During lectures and discussions information will be given on British life and culture, to include easy to use materials which participants will be able to apply in their training rooms when they return to work after the course. Participants will build up a bank of ideas to take back to their country. Throughout the course participants will be encouraged to experiment and think ‘outside the box’.
This course also focuses on improving teachers’ own language skills with three days of intensive language tuition: advanced language practice through activities designed to improve intonation, pronunciation and communicative confidence; creative writing and new developments in the English language.
Participants will return to their home countries with renewed enthusiasm and confidence and a clearer understanding of British culture. They will receive:
- Contact details of tutors and colleagues to facilitate on-going development and exchange of ideas
- A feedback questionnaire evaluating the course and ideas collected during the programme
- A bibliography of suggested further reading
