FULL DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING CONTENTS
IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE TRAINING: (EN)
After registration closes, a blogspot will be set up that will provide updates on workshop organisation as well as allow participants to introduce themselves and discuss their interests and the regions that they come from. At the same time, participants will be sent work material in order to prepare for the different activities offered during the workshop sessions. In addition, participants will be expected to prepare a poster that presents aspects of and issues associated with intercultural dialogue and that will subsequently be discussed in group meetings.
Training objectives are:
- to promote the intercultural competence of the participant and to work against prejudice
- to strengthen cooperation between European neighbours
- to strengthen a sense of European civic culture through international encounter and exchange
- to promote mobility in Europe

Participants will exchange their intercultural experience and develop strategies with which to carry out joint projects in Europe. As multipliers, the participants will put the experiences they have gained during the workshop to use and transfer them at the own places of work.

The course will offer an open, hands-on and practically oriented approach that builds on the working experiences of the participants. Through the open format we will allow for a highly flexible development of the course contents; as practitioners, the participants will themselves contribute their own practical knowledge, specific issues and approaches. Through openness we will assure that participants will be able to provide their insights and expertise – this will enrich the course and optimise its impact.

This course is interdisciplinary and intentionally so in order to avoid situations where open discussion is hindered by insider “shop talk”. Our philosophy is based on the assumption that intercultural competence can both be learned and nurtured by training – and a process of lifelong learning. Communication will transcend disciplinary boundaries and promote independent problem-solving through a course methodology that promotes learning by doing. Example of course methodology to be employed include: role-playing exercises, observation (excursions) and case studies (examples of specific situations gleaned from participants’ own experience).
The process, interactive methodology, various activities and the final results of the workshop will be fully documented and made available to the wider public in the form of downloadable reports. Furthermore, the workshop weblog will serve during the course as a communication vehicle to all those who cannot participate but are interested in the course subject matter. Our blog will consist of inputs from participants that convey the most important results and experiences of the course.
