FULL DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING CONTENTS
IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE TRAINING: (EN)
In the web page www.emportfolio.eu you may find all the information regarding the subject and the relative online materials.
It is suggested to try out some EMP activities in order to gain your own experiences on the issue and be properly prapared to discuss your "findings" with the other participants.
Please bring with you at least one activity that reflects the integration between music and foreign language teaching in primary education.
The Comenius Project entitled "European Music Portfolio: A creative way into Languages" aims at covering the gap, which has been created as a natural result of multiculturalism that characterizes the European States. The main goal is to find an intersection, in which teaching can be understood in any language conveying the same feelings, meanings and experiences.
The common denominator is music, a complex of sounds, lyrics and expressive elements, whose concepts and meanings are readily understood regardless of language and cultural, social origin of individuals.

The main goal of this session is to introduce to trainers a new way for connecting music with teaching foreign languages in primary education. Furthermore, it aims at the acquisition of the necessary musical skills through a complete program that includes material from the theoretical background of this approach and the most recent methods and techniques that nowadays are being followed.

This combination of learning foreign languages through music is an innovative, yet creative approach, which should cover both communication and understanding gaps among people of different culture, ethnosity, gender, religion etc.
The methodology to be followed within the framework of integrating musical skill in primary foreign language education includes musical activities that facilitate the developement of musical skills, techniques for "intepreting" primary foreign language education via music, the presentation of teacher's handbook and the relative material for accomplishing that, and finally, the introduction to the e-platform (moodle) and its further functions
After the course, participants will be able to communicate through the e-learning platform (moodle)and exchange experiences and practices with other trainers from Partner countries.
They will also have the opportunity to evaluate themselves via the e-platform and discuss their performances with the trainers and other participants.
