FULL DESCRIPTION OF TRAINING CONTENTS
IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE TRAINING: (EN)
- For course team building purposes, participants will need to fill-in a small form that will be circulated by email to the other participants. This will help introduce them, their country/region and why they are interested in learning about the topic of Eco-Innovation & Sustainable Development.

- In addition, participants will be given reading material on eco innovation & Sustainable Development to read to help prepare them for the course, including YouTube video clips.

- Given the goals set by the EU for 2020 including those of climate change and the exploitation of renewable energies, European citizens need to be practically trained on how they can contribute. Thus, the aim of this course is to provide participants with a good grounding on the theme of “Innovation from a Sustainable Development (SD)” perspective. Thus, by the end of the course, the participants would:
* be knowledgeable on the topic of Sustainable Development (SD), Eco Innovation (EI) and the Green Economy;
* be equipped with practical knowledge on innovation/creativity methods & tools to help them be innovative from an eco-friendly perspective;
* have been exposed to relevant EI & SD case-studies & technical visits in the island of Malta;
* become aware of EU initiatives relevant to Eco-Innovation & SD;
* have acquired practical knowledge and relevant course material to help them provide effective training to others on the topic of Eco-Innovation & Sustainability;
* have received hands-on training in the use of e-Learning for facilitating training in EI & SD;
- This 5-day course on ‘Eco Innovation & Sustainable Development’ is unique in that is based on a “mix” of:
(a) face-to-face lectures by relevant tutors qualified in both innovation/creativity and sustainable development;
(b) case-study technical visits around the islands of Malta/Gozo such as to Reverse Osmosis (seawater) desalination plants, Waste Management Facilities and Eco-Tourism related sites;
(c) hands-on interactive group exercises;
(d) e-Learning based sessions;
(e) audio-visual case-studies.
- At the end of the course, the participants will be asked to prepare a short report on
(i) the highlights of the course from their perspective and
(ii) how they plan to utilize the knowledge on Eco-Innovation/Sustainability acquired in the course.
In addition, they will be given access to MECB’s e-Learning content of the course and the email contact details of all the trainers for further one-to-one support and guidance.
