Erasmus in figures: new statistical report
Did you know that Spain, France and Germany are the most popular destination for Erasmus students? That the average Erasmus student stays abroad for around 6 months? That the number of university teachers going abroad with the help of the programme each year has more than tripled over the last ten years and is now at over 27 000? A statistical overview of mobility with the Erasmus programme has just been published, including detailed analysis of student and staff mobility, Erasmus Intensive Language Courses and Intensive Programmes in the academic year 2007/08.
The report highlights the continuing growth of Erasmus student mobility. In 2007/08 almost 183 000 students from around 2 500 higher education institutions participated in the programme. In addition, 32 000 academic and other staff were mobile to teach and get training in another European country.The report and the annexed tables present cross-country comparisons, trend analyses and time series.
