Comenius programme to offer new mobility opportunities for secondary pupils
Pupils at secondary schools will have the possibility to spend between three and ten months in a host school and a host family abroad under a new strand of Comenius, the EU's programme in the field of school education. A stay abroad will offer them a European learning experience, broaden their understanding of the diversity of European cultures and languages and help them acquire the skills they need for their personal development.
Comenius individual pupil mobility, which will allow the first pupils to go abroad in the school year 2010/11, is open to schools involved in a Comenius school partnership. In 2010, Austria, the German speaking part of Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Norway, Spain, and Sweden will participate and both the sending and the receiving schools must be in one of these countries. The action was piloted in 2007/08.To know more
