Grundtvig programme celebrates first European day of solidarity between generations
29 April is the European day of solidarity between generations, an opportunity to recall the importance of the inter-generational dimension in education and training. Youngsters and older people can learn together, exchange experiences and mutually benefit from their respective assets.
Within the Lifelong Learning Programme, the Grundtvig programme supports adult education, and funds a great number of projects. Some of them have allowed the development of interesting initiatives for intergenerational solidarity and learning. The Teddybear project invites older people to share their life stories with young children in primary schools. The association Entr'Ages is creating a theatre play with teenagers and elderly people. And in the Patron project senior managers and entrepreneurs transfer their skills to young ones.
