Euronews met 16 year-old Elea from France, who is spending a year at a school in Finland with support from the Comenius programme.
Introduced in 2010, Comenius grants for individual pupil mobility are increasingly popular. Elea is one of around 1300 secondary students who are currently staying at their schools' partner school abroad.
Pupils at secondary schools have the opportunity to spend between 3 and 10 months at a school abroad and stay in a host family. The sending school and the host school need to be partners in a Comenius-supported partnership project.
