The Teacher Learning for European Literacy Education (TeL4ELE) project is focusing primarily on exploring teaching literacy in learners' second languages. The methodology for the two-year project is based on Functional Model of Language theories which have shown considerable success in Australia.
Adapting to change
Guided by experts from Australia, each of the partners from Denmark, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom will identify key literacy issues in their countries and then adapt and trial approaches to their national contexts.
All the international partners will share their experiences and develop a common teacher learning approach. This will be tested on small groups of teachers and students, with data on the experiences shared among the network.
The project runs until 2013.
