The database aims to inspire practitioners, stakeholders and policymakers by presenting "best practices" in the field of
language teaching and learning.
The European Language Label is awarded to local, regional, and national projects that have found creative ways to improve
the quality of language teaching, motivate students, make the best use of available resources to diversify the languages
on offer, and other innovative initiatives.

Wielkopolska and Brandenburg – A Two-Stage Polish-German Educational Project
Aims of the initiative:
• Getting to know pupils from the partner school, learning about their environment and customs, and searching for elements common to the seemingly distant cultures;
• breaking internal psychological barriers which emerge when one is faced with the new, the alien and the unknown;
• developing „unnoticeably” language skills during joint games and activities in a two-language and two-nationality group of children;
• organising meaningful and emotionally enriching leisure activities for pupils (both stages of the project took place during weekends).
Description of activities:
The project builds on the aims of partnership-based cooperation with a German school, Grundschule Toepchin, in the Municipality of Motzen, Brandenburg, which has close links with the Polish school.
Since 2001 the author has organised at least one partner meeting in the Polish school
