The database aims to inspire practitioners, stakeholders and policymakers by presenting "best practices" in the field of
language teaching and learning.
The European Language Label is awarded to local, regional, and national projects that have found creative ways to improve
the quality of language teaching, motivate students, make the best use of available resources to diversify the languages
on offer, and other innovative initiatives.

Label of the day
English – A Passport to Europe
The project „English – A Passport to Europe” was targeted in particular on pupils in the General Education School Complex in Sobieszyn, but also on all interested pupils from schools across the County of Ryki. The Lower Secondary School in Sobieszyn has excellent facilities for learning English (a classroom-laboratory with a laptop, access to the Internet and an extensive library of dictionaries, cassettes, video and DVD films, etc.); thus our activities could cover the entire county. The following tasks were carried out as part of the project:
• Summer English classes (in a room at the Commune Cultural Centre in Ułęż). Pupils used the Internet and computer software in their work, improving their language skills, with special regard to conversation skills.
• The English Language Club (between September and the end of December): pupils prepared for competitions, used ICT, corresponded
