The database aims to inspire practitioners, stakeholders and policymakers by presenting "best practices" in the field of
language teaching and learning.
The European Language Label is awarded to local, regional, and national projects that have found creative ways to improve
the quality of language teaching, motivate students, make the best use of available resources to diversify the languages
on offer, and other innovative initiatives.

The Language Robot
The product created by the Academy of Security Sciences is one of the kind language simulators which use the voice recognition as a language tool for professional language training for Boarder guards here in Estonia and probably across Europe in the near future. The simulator trains common professional language expressions used in the border guard work. Students can train their language skills online separately or in a blended way in existing language courses. The program recognizes the quality of speech spoken by the participant and assesses the quality of that (if the sentence was understandable from costumer side). Exercises vary from difficulty level and as a new development in 2012 we are going to create virtual reality work situations where the participant has to choose the right sentence in order to progress with the work.
