This database contains projects that have received the European Language Label since 1999
(for the pilot phase 1998-99, please refer to "The European Label:
catalogue of projects 1998-99").
The database aims to inspire practitioners, stakeholders and policymakers by presenting "best practices" in the field of
language teaching and learning.
The European Language Label is awarded to local, regional, and national projects that have found creative ways to improve
the quality of language teaching, motivate students, make the best use of available resources to diversify the languages
on offer, and other innovative initiatives.

Label of the day
YET - Youth, Europe and Theatre
YET is a triangular theatre project involving Italy, the Netherlands and Finland and lasting three years. Each year one of the three partner schools receives participants from the other two: two 30-student groups and two Creative Teams made up of 5 teachers each.
Throughout two intensive weeks the participants work divided into three international groups to produce a theatrical performance under the artistic supervision of three teachers from the different schools. The performances, all in English, draw inspiration from a single text, chosen by the host country to represent its literary culture. In 2006 and 2007 the project took place in Rome and Oulu (Finland) respectively, with performances loosely based on Italo Calvino’s "The Castle of Crossed Destinies" and Tove Jansson’s "The Invisible Child".
The project stimulates an intense creative effort even in the less extrovert students,
