The database aims to inspire practitioners, stakeholders and policymakers by presenting "best practices" in the field of
language teaching and learning.
The European Language Label is awarded to local, regional, and national projects that have found creative ways to improve
the quality of language teaching, motivate students, make the best use of available resources to diversify the languages
on offer, and other innovative initiatives.

"Hitradio R 3" was a multidisciplinary project for all educational levels (January-June 2000) as part of an "open learning" approach with the aim of stimulating the linguistic and cultural awareness of pupils (ages: 13-15) and acquainting them with life in today's multicultural world. The main goal was to supplement the multilingual education of pupils with a creative project based around the idea of learning to understand people with a different language, culture and way of life, in particular so as to become more receptive to a united Europe. Linguistic flexibility would provide the basis for a self-confident approach to international communication. Producing a multilingual radio programme (in Italian, French, English and Greek) had a motivating effect on the intensive project work.
