The database aims to inspire practitioners, stakeholders and policymakers by presenting "best practices" in the field of
language teaching and learning.
The European Language Label is awarded to local, regional, and national projects that have found creative ways to improve
the quality of language teaching, motivate students, make the best use of available resources to diversify the languages
on offer, and other innovative initiatives.

Integrating Second Language at Early Age
The project undertaken in co-operation with kindergartens from 9 European countries was meant to promote the learning of a second language at an early stage (2-8 years), the design of suitable supporting materials and the use of methods appropriate for this specific age group. The objective has been reached via a variety of child-centred means: materials and activities designed to take place in specially tailored area such as: the English Comenius corner, games, anthologies of songs, poems, child stories. Children have thus discovered the value of communicating and expressing themselves in another language. They have exchanged work products (pictures, dolls, photos), e-mails and letters, with children from other countries as a way of learning and at the same time enjoying learning.
