The database aims to inspire practitioners, stakeholders and policymakers by presenting "best practices" in the field of
language teaching and learning.
The European Language Label is awarded to local, regional, and national projects that have found creative ways to improve
the quality of language teaching, motivate students, make the best use of available resources to diversify the languages
on offer, and other innovative initiatives.

Zvolen in Dortmund
Gymnázium in Zvolen has cooperated with the partner school Gymnázium in Dortmund, Germany, since 2002 on the base of two-year projects. During the first year of the project pupils make mutual correspondence to know each other better. Their correspondence and communication is in German or English languages. In the second year they realise one week exchange visit for approx. 10 pupils who stay in their friend families. During their stay they take part in classes at their partner school. Besides the activities in school there are a lot of other activities prepared for pupils in order to learn more and get familiar with the cultural heritage of Germany.
