Coordinated by the Universidade Lusófona in Portugal this project involves 10 partners from 6 Member States covering the main geographic areas of the Union.
The project focuses on addressing the faults in matching training and professional development opportunities in the European film and audiovisual sector. The need for broader training that provides business skills and fosters employability alongside creativity is also clearly pinpointed. The partnership intends to resolve this through closer cooperation with film industry employers, targeted training, new learning technologies and distance learning, staff and student mobility between participating partners and the creation of a Europe-wide platform and network for employers and educational bodies in the film and media industry to promote best practice and innovation in the field at a grass roots level. CIAKL sees films and media schools as engines of creativity that can benefit greatly from the innovation brought about by learning technologies and a change in the student and staff mindset to promoting more business and entrepreneurship oriented attitudes.
