”Euro changeover – what should or shouldn’t be done? Conference on euro changeover preparations

Warsaw, 10-11 March 2011

The euro changeover conference in Warsaw looked in detail at what the introduction of the euro has meant and will mean for countries like Poland. It covered the practicalities of changeovers and examined the best ways to avoid potential problems. It includes interviews with:

  • Benjamin Angel - the head of the European Commission unit responsible for euro cash; 
  • Pawel Kowalewski - Director of the euro area integration department of the National Bank of Poland;
  • Antti Heinonen - former Director for banknotes at the European Central Bank;
  • Marek Rozkrut - Director, Ministry of Finance, Poland;
  • Igor Barat - member of the Board of Directors - PoŇ°tová banka, Slovakia;
  • Tanel Ross - Deputy Secretary-General, Ministry of Finance, Estonia;
  • Eliza Wojcik - Director, General Police Headquarters, Poland
