The EU held its latest Economic Dialogue with Algerian authorities in Algiers in November 2014. The European Commission presented the EU economic outlook based on the autumn 2014 economic forecast and the latest developments in EU economic and financial policies. The Algerian authorities presented recent macroeconomic developments and policies in their country. The meeting also provided the opportunity to discuss issues of mutual interest, including in particular Algeria’s investment climate and the challenges related to diversifying away from the hydrocarbon industry. The Dialogue also looked at the main priorities of bilateral financial cooperation and progress in the discussions on the Action Plan and the Strategic Support Framework.
The next meeting will take place in Brussels in autumn 2015 (to be confirmed).
