17/03/2008 - 18/03/2008 : Conference "The euro: global implications and relevance for Latin America", New York, 17 - 18 March 2008

This high-level conference organized by the European Commission with the support of the Central Bank of Brazil took place in Sao Paulo on 17 and 18 March 2008.

The conference brought together participants who have significant influence and expert knowledge in EU-Latin American financial and economic relations. Representatives of central banks, national treasuries, business communities and leading academics, mostly from the Latin American and EU regions participated in the event.

The conference was opened by the President of the European Commission, José Manuel Durão Barroso
