The Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission and the European PPP Expertise Centre (EPEC), in cooperation with the European Economic and Social Committee, organise the meetings of the Private Sector Forum. These semi-annual events have proven to be a valuable source of information for the private sector on the Commission’s and EPEC's work on PPP (Public-Private Partnerships) as well as a sounding board for new ideas.
The main topic of discussion at the Private Sector Forum on the 17th May 2011 in Brussels was "Public Support Mechanisms for PPPs".
By participating in the event, attendees gained insights into both the current status of the EU 2020 Project Bond Initiative consultation process, and the various forms of Public Support Mechanisms.
EPEC also presented its new paper on "State Guarantees" with a view to share knowledge and propose guidance on this key issue.
