Laurent Blanchard

Laurent Blanchard joined Cisco France in 2007 as Managing Director and was promoted Vice President of European Markets and General Manager of Cisco France in December 2008. In this role, he must ensure the development of Cisco’s activities on the French market.

Laurent Blanchard believes in a "society technologically modified, more respectful in human people and sustainable development". He is a member of Cisco EcoBoard, whose strategy is to implement environmental programmes that focus on innovations to Cisco's network architecture, environmentally-conscious product design and supply-chain solutions, and sustainable company operations. Each of these programmes is intended to help Cisco meet its objective to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 25% by 2012, based on a 2007 baseline.

Laurent Blanchard started his career at IBM France in 1989 before joining the European marketing and technical support centre for the UNIX product line in Munich. He later developed and managed the SAP competence centre at worldwide level. In 1996 he joined Compaq Europe. In 1999, following the buyout of Tandem and Digital, he returned to France to take over the Enterprise division. After the merger with HP, Laurent Blanchard was appointed as Director of HP EMEA’s NonStop division at European level, subsequently becoming vice-president, managing director of HP France.

Laurent Blanchard is a graduate of ENSEM in Nancy (France). He is the author of Optimisme durable, to be published by Cherche Midi Editeur next June.
