Jennifer Morgan

Director of the Climate and Energy Program, World Resources Institute.

Jennifer Morgan was appointed Director of the Climate and Energy Program at the World Resources Institute (WRI) in August 2009. Prior to WRI, she worked at E3G from 2006 to 2009 as its Global Climate Change Director, focusing on EU relations with China and the United States and the global discussions on the regime post-2012. She remains a non-executive board member of E3G.

In 2007, she served as senior advisor to the German Chancellor’s Chief Advisor, Dr. Schellnhuber, and since 2008 she advises former British Prime Minister Tony Blair on his “Breaking the Climate Deadlock” project.

Previously, Jennifer Morgan led the Global Climate Change Programme of the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF), which she joined in 1998. She headed its delegation to the Kyoto Protocol climate negotiations.

Before joining WWF, Ms. Morgan worked for the US Climate Action Network, a network of over 200 environmental groups worldwide. In 1996 she accepted a year fellowship with the Robert Bosch Foundation in Germany. During this time, she worked for the European Business Council for a Sustainable Energy Future and for the Federal Ministry of Environment, supporting the head of the German delegation to the UN climate change negotiations.

She graduated from Indiana University in Political Science and Germanic Studies and holds a master's degree from the School of International Service, The American University, in International Affairs.
