A competition to celebrate ten years of the euro

Eurocompetition, an online poster competition, had been organised by the European Schoolnet (EUN) on behalf of DG ECFIN. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) and the euro, school children between 10 and 14 years of age living in the euro area submitted their poster designs. The competition closed on 31December 2008 with 1892 contributions.

National coordinators established a preselection of three contributions per country, out of which a grand jury chose the 15 finalists and from these the overall winner.
