Participating States' authorities

Civil Protection Mechanism (CPM) facilitates cooperation in civil protection assistance offered by the Participating States in the Mechanism. If a country's preparedness for a disaster is not sufficient enough to respond to a disaster, CPM can intervene upon request by pooling the civil protection assets of the Participating States. Any country inside or outside the EU affected by a disaster can make an appeal for assistance through the Monitoring and Information Centre (MIC) which is accessible 24 hours a day. Relevant Participating States' authorities (emergency response centres from the member states) are connected with MIC and share information on a regular basis.
