Every minute eight people leave everything behind to escape war, persecution or terror. If conflict threatened your family, what would you do? Stay and face death in a war zone? Or flee, leave loved ones behind and risk kidnap, rape or torture? For refugees the choice is often between death and bare survival somewhere else.
In the wake of the upcoming 2012 World Refugee Day, ECHO's partner, the UN Refugee Agency UNHCR, launches the "Dilemmas" campaign, to raise awareness as to who refugees are and why they need help. As so often, the best way of understanding is to put yourself in the shoes of someone else.
Your understanding can help those who are forced to flee trying to find safety, regain hope and rebuild their lives!
