29/01/2013 - An EU Civil Protection Modules exercise was conducted between 25 and 28 January 2013 in Tinglev, Denmark.
The exercises focused on specific training needs for the modules that can be deployed through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, i.e. civil protection experts on stand-by and ready to intervene immediately when a disaster happens. The aim of the exercise was to test disaster response procedures ( e.g. entering of the teams in the affected country, Reception/Departure Centre procedures); to test the cooperation of national civil protection authorities and the European Civil Protection team; and to offer a platform for networking and exchange of information between the European countries.
The Director General of the Commission's Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department ECHO, Claus Sørensen, visited the exercise.
