Myanmar's Magway communities choose the intervention best suited to their needs (2012)

In two minutes see how an emergency response to flooding which took into account the needs of the affected agricultural communities, has saved this year's harvest. Following the flooding of planted fields, ECHO and its partners, Save the Children UK and Oxfam, consulted the communities and the chosen response was to distribute kits and cash. The kits were for basic sanitary and water needs following the flooding. The cash was to help families reinvest in their livelihoods; allowing them to buy seeds to replant their fields immediately so as not to miss the next harvest period.
