Emergency numbers

112

Portugal has adopted 112 as the main national emergency number. In non-urgent matters, 114 is used for calling the police.

The emergency service is run by a joint consortium between the Ministry for Internal Administration and Health and it serves 4 languages (Portuguese, English, French and Spanish). The personnel consist of 70 employees.

Other numbers are working alongside 112. i.e.:

  • The police
  • The Emergency Medical Services
  • The Fire Brigade
