In the last four years, Boko Haram-related violence forced 2.5 million people from their homes across Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad and Niger, turning it into Africa’s fastest-growing displacement crisis, with massive humanitarian consequences. From the Far North region of Cameroon, which has received over 60 000* refugees from Nigeria and has seen 225 000* of its own population displaced, EU Humanitarian Aid expert Rose Etame explains the basic needs of those who had to leave everything behind, and how the EU humanitarian office is providing assistance.
