Peace Football Cup is a football tournament in Belgrade, Serbia, which fosters interaction between refugees and host communities.
More than 250 people came to see 16 teams which brought together refugees of various ethnicities from eight refugee camps, and local and foreign players. They gathered for a day-long event of fun, sport, and food, thanks to the support of BelgrAid, an international NGO.
The energy was high and the spirit competitive, as everybody had trained hard to participate in the tournament. In the end, the team from KIRS (Commissariat for Refugees and Migration of the Republic of Serbia) took first place, followed by Yugo 55 and the team from Kikinda camp.
The tournament was organised by the Food Consortium Serbia and Refugee Aid Serbia and the project is supported by the EU’s Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations.
