Launched in 2015 by the European Union, the EU Aid Volunteers initiative enables volunteers and organisations from different countries to work together on humanitarian projects around the world. Its purpose is to help build the local capacity and resilience of communities affected by disasters or conflicts by providing support to the most vulnerable.

Marie-Elodie, a 26-year-old from France, volunteers in Senegal with the NGO ACTED as head of a food and nutrition security project in the Matam region, in the north-east of the country. She shares with us her experience, which is coming to an end.
