Cameroon: food for families displaced by Boko Haram

Boko Haram has not only wreaked havoc in Nigeria; in neighbouring Cameroon, the armed group carries out regular attacks, which have resulted in thousands of deaths and have displaced approximately 215 000 Cameroonians. These internally displaced populations do not live in refugee camps but scattered in towns and villages, far from their home, their crops, and their livelihoods. European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations provides displaced people with emergency assistance in the form of cash so that families can buy what they need at local shops.
