The European Union is committed to transparency and providing information on humanitarian aid funding from all its Member States. In the spirit of this transparency the European Commission's Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department (ECHO) created EDRIS, the European Emergency Disaster Response Information System to clearly identify the EU's humanitarian aid contributions.
This database provides details or both Cash and In-kind assistance provided to countries affected by natural or man-made disasters as well as providing information on how much each European Union Member State contributed to a disaster response operation and to which area. The European Union Member States encode the information themselves, ensuring information is communicated directly.
The database has records of aid contributions dating back to 1999.
EDRIS also powers the EU Aid Explorer website.
