Call for Proposals: Cooperation projects on preparedness and prevention
The 2008 call for proposals for cooperation projects on preparedness and prevention in the field of civil protection covers TWO separate sections, with each their own objectives and specific budget:
(A) Preparedness Projects
(B) Prevention Projects
Objectives of preparedness projects
- Civil Protection responders (professionals and volunteers) operating in the Member States
- Enhancing the preparedness of the public in case of emergencies in the Member States
- Dissemination, promotion and implementation of results of clusters of completed projects
Objectives of prevention projects
No specific objective or target group is set for prevention projects. However, the general requirement for eligible projects is to develop activities in long term prevention and mitigation of damage by improving risk assessment and management. Ideally, consistency should be promoted in the 'response-preparedness-prevention-remediation' chain, by matching general policy requirements in the field of, for instance, environment, agriculture or economy with civil protection response requirements.
The general notice for this Call for Proposals was published in the Official Journal of the European Communities of 11 March 2008 (2008/C65/06).
