Information day
How to prepare a proposal for the Call for Proposals
for pilot projects on civil protection cross border cooperation
in the fight against natural disasters
4 July 2006, Brussels, Belgium
On 4 July 2006, the Directorate-General for Environment
of the European Commission (Civil Protection Unit) has hosted
an Information Day in Brussels (Belgium) on "How to prepare
a proposal for the Call for Proposals for pilot projects on
civil protection cross border cooperation in the fight against
natural disasters".
This Call for Proposals is expected to be published end
of July 2006 and will be open to any legal person (public
or private) established in the EU Member States and Accession
States, supported by their central civil protection authorities.
EEA Member States may participate in proposed pilot projects
at their own cost.
Supporting relevant, innovative and cost-effective proposals
is one of the basic aims of the Call for Proposals for pilot
projects on civil protection cross border cooperation in the
fight against natural disasters. In order to ensure that the
proposals comply with appropriate quality standards, and to
increase their success rate, potential proponents should be
appropriately informed on the formal and substantial (legal,
financial, technical, etc.) requirements and criteria applicable
to the Call. The aim of the information day is to provide
this information.
Furthermore, the information day wants to facilitate possible
applicants in networking and finding possible European partners.
