Information Day 2009

How to prepare proposals/tenders for Civil Protection in 2009

Thursday, 5 February 2009, Brussels, Belgium

On 5 February 2009, the Directorate-General for Environment of the European Commission (Civil Protection Unit) will hold an Information Day in Brussels (Belgium) on "How to prepare proposals under the Civil Protection Financial Instrument".

Aim

The aim of the Information Day is to provide potential applicants with useful information on how to prepare proposals to be submitted under the next calls for proposals and calls for tender in 2009 under the Civil Protection Financial Instrument.

The Instrument deals with civil protection prevention, preparedness and response and will provide funding opportunities for a number of activities such as cooperation projects on prevention and preparedness, simulation exercises, specific exercises on modules, etc., in particular in the framework of the Community Mechanism to facilitate reinforced cooperation in civil protection assistance interventions.

Supporting relevant, innovative and cost-effective proposals is essential to allow a successful implementation of policy objectives.  In order to ensure that the proposals comply with the required quality standards, and to increase their success rate, the Commission will inform potential proponents  on the formal and substantial (legal, financial, technical, etc.) requirements and criteria applicable.

Participants

The Information Day is intended for representatives of all the relevant stakeholders in the field of civil protection (national administrations, regional and local authorities, private sector, non-governmental organizations, etc.).
