As laid down in Council Regulation (EC) No 1257/96 and in Article 72 of the Cotonou Agreement, the mandate of DG ECHO is the management and financing of the European Union's humanitarian aid. Therefore, DG ECHO recruits experts experienced in the implementation of humanitarian aid.
