Call for Expression of Interest for Auxiliary Contract Staff (FGIII, FGII)
from EPSO CAST Reserve Lists

ECHO is looking for potential candidates from EPSO CAST Reserve Lists who would be interested to join the European Union Emergency Response Centre (ERC) in DG ECHO as Duty Officers (FG III) and On-Duty operational Agents (FG II).

The ERC primarily supports European Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection operations. Staffed around the clock, seven days a week, it anticipates and reacts immediately to major emergencies and disasters in any part of the world. By ensuring efficient coordination and real-time information sharing between the various Commission services and the Member States, the ERC enables Europe to efficiently direct its aid towards the people most in need.

For each function group concerned (FGIII, FG II), DG ECHO will establish a list of potential candidates who have already successfully passed CAST selections organised by the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) and whose names are placed on the EPSO CAST reserve lists valid for use by the European Commission.

The DG ECHO list of potential candidates will remain valid until 30/06/2013 and may be extended.

In order to be eligible, candidates should:

  • be included on one of the valid EPSO CAST reserve lists available for use by the European Commission
  • submit a complete application (CV, motivation letter and EPSO letter), indicating how soon they would be available to start if selected for a contract
  • have a very good knowledge of both written and spoken English, the working language of the ERC.
