Joint Action on Alzheimer Cooperative Valuation in Europe (ALCOVE) – Final Conference, 28 March 2013, Paris
06 March 2013
After 2 years of activities, the Joint Action Alcove is organising its Final Conference.
ALCOVE was funded under the EU Health Programme gathering 30 associated and collaborating partners from 19 EU Member States and associated countries. ALCOVE is a Joint Action aiming to improve knowledge on dementia and its consequences.
ALCOVE also targets the exchange of information to preserve health, quality of life, autonomy and the dignity of people living with dementia and their carers in EU Member States.
The joint action addressed 4 key issues:
- How to improve data for better knowledge about dementia prevalence?
- How to improve access to dementia diagnosis as early as possible?
- How to improve care for people living with dementia and particularly those with behavioural disorders?
- How to improve the rights of people with dementia, particularly in respect to advance declarations of will?
The conclusions and suggestions to improve each Member State, along with options to improve health policy for dementia, will be presented at the Final Conference by ALCOVE's 19 Member States.
