Start of the project E-HOD

The network and registry for homocystinurias and methylation defects -E-HOD- is a Health Programme project aiming at the promotion of health for children, adolescents and adults affected with these rare and severe diseases.

E-HOD has three specific objectives:

  1. improving knowledge on homocystinurias and methylation defects through the collection of clinical data into a registry,
  2. developing diagnosis and clinical care recommendations,
  3. evaluating the newborn screening programme with recommendations.

The project started on 15 February 2013 and will last 39 months. The kick off meeting will take place on the 28 February, in Luxembourg. The action will be implemented by 13 partners from 12 countries: the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, Czech Republic, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Austria, Portugal and France. The aim of the meeting will be to present the E-HOD objectives, processes and expected outcomes, to discuss the work plan and define the methods for producing deliverables.
