Health: SHIPSAN Kick off meeting

The SHIPSAN ACT joint action aims to improve citizens' health security by strengthening the health of travellers and crew of passenger and cargo ships and preventing the cross-border spread of diseases. The SHIPSAN ACT will start on the 1 February 2013 for a duration of 39 months. The SHIPSAN ACT Joint Action kick off meeting will take place on the 28 February and 1 March 2013, in Athens, organized by the University of Thessaly, Greece, with participation of DGSANCO, WHO Lyon and Copenhagen officer, European Cruise Council, Cruise Lines International Association, European Maritime Safety Agency, Ministry of Health Greece.
The aim of the meeting will be to present the SHIPSAN ACT Joint Action objectives, processes and expected outcomes, to discuss and define the methods for producing deliverables and the work plan, to finalize the SHIPSAN ACT Joint Action Handbook and to initiate actions for sustainability of Joint action activities.
