The European Commission Health Directorate activities on Roma Inclusion in 2013

The "Roma Health report" first meeting took place on the 8 January 2013 in Luxembourg, with the participation of Matrix Insight, SANCO Health Determinants representatives and EAHC. The objective of the service contract is to provide scientific reports for the Commission's actions in reducing the health gap between Roma and the majority populations, by
- Preparing a report assessing the health status and health-related lifestyle attributes of the Roma population, with a particular focus on countries with large Roma population (CZ, SK, HU, BG, RO, GR, ES and Croatia) and on health status of the migrant Roma (particularly in FR, UK, IT).
- Providing a report on Member States' current and future activities in data collection and development of specific surveys aiming to monitor the progress in the implementation of the National Roma Inclusion Strategies in the area of health.
The Roma Health report contract will be carried out by Matrix Insight (UK) during a period of 12 months. The reports will contribute to Fundamental Rights Agency initiative of mapping data sources on Roma inclusion in Europe.
