The Joint Action ACCORD starts work to achieve comprehensive coordination in Organ Donation throughout the European Union

The Joint Action between Member States and the European Commission on Achieving Comprehensive Coordination in Organ Donation throughout the European Union (JA ACCORD) starts in May 2012. Organ transplantation (OT) is a consolidated therapy benefitting thousands of patients the EU. Activities vary from one Member State to another and ACCORD intends to strengthen the full potential of each Member State in this field and to improve cooperation between them.
The Opening will be held on 31 May 2012 by the Spanish Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality. This Joint Action, which receives co-funding from the European Union in the frame of the EU Health Programme, is being coordinated by the Spanish National Transplant Organisation (ONT) in Madrid and includes 23 European partner organisations.
