News - Joining together to tackle HIV/AIDS in Europe

Three new projects started their activities during 2012

TUBIDUTUBIDU – Empowering civil society and public health systems to fight the tuberculosis epidemic among vulnerable groups. This is coordinated by the National Institute for Health Development (NIHD) (EE). The TUBIDU project contributes to the prevention of injected drug use- and HIV-related TB epidemics through empowerment of health systems and civil society and enhanced collaboration between various stakeholders.

SialonSIALON II - Capacity building in combining targeted prevention with meaningful HIV surveillance among MSM, Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Integrata Verona (IT). SIALON aims to promote combined and targeted prevention complemented by effective surveillance among MSM, in collaboration with the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS and the World Health Organisation.

HEP SCREENEU HEP SCREEN - Screening for Hepatitis B and C among migrants in the European Union, Erasmus Medical Center (NL). HEP screen is assessing, and will describe and communicate to public health professionals, tools and conditions necessary for implementing successful screening programmes for hepatitis B and C among migrants in the European Union.
