Data protection
All personal data are processed by the Executive Agency for Health and Consumers (EAHC) in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EC) N° 45/2001 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2000 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Community institutions and bodies and on the free movement of such data. The data processing operations concern two main areas: the implementation of three EU programmes and the EAHC personnel selection and recruitment activities.
Personal data processing operations in the area of implementation of the EU programmes
The Executive Agency for Health and Consumers processes personal data for the performance of its tasks e. g. for the implementation of the Health Programme (2008-2013), the Consumer Programme (2007-2013) and the Better Training for Safer Food Initiative. The personal data of applicants and tenderers are processed solely for the purpose of the calls for proposals and direct grant agreements, calls for tenders or the other activities of the Executive Agency (such as organising meetings) according to its mandate.

Personal data processing operations in the area of personnel selection and recruitment
The purpose of processing of the data submitted by candidates for vacancies is to manage job applications in view of a possible pre-selection and recruitment at the Executive Agency. The personal data of candidates are processed solely for the purpose of personnel selection and recruitment.

General issues
Unless specified differently in the call documents, in the vacancy notice and/or in the privacy statement,
- in line with Article 5(a) of Regulation 45/2001, the personal data processing operations at EAHC are necessary for the performance of tasks carried out in the public interest on the basis of the EU Treaties or other instruments adopted on the basis thereof and for the legitimate exercise of official authority vested in EAHC;
- all applicants, tenderers or candidates providing information including personal data to EAHC by any means (in particular by paper or electronic form) are deemed to have unambiguously given their consent for the subsequent processing operations in application of Article 5(d) of Regulation 45/2001.
As a general rule, the personal information collected is processed only by the members of the EAHC staff responsible of the corresponding processing operations and will be kept no longer than necessary.
Based on Regulation 45/2001, data subjects have in particular the right of access, rectification, blocking of data, erasure. Data subjects may at any time consult EAHC’s responsible unit processing the personal data, the Data Protection Officer at EAHC or have recourse to the European Data Protection Supervisor.
