Torbjorn is an expert in visualization, interaction and interactive culture. He has more than 30 years experience in research and education planning at Umeå University. He was coordinator and co-founder of VRlab (Virtual Reality Lab), Supercomputer Center North and High-Performance Computer Center North (HPC2N) all at Umeå university. In the last 10 years he has worked with 3D visualization and creative industry applications, interactive culture and e-service development. He founded HUMlab at Umeå University in 1997, a border-crossing lab and meeting place for culture, the Humanities and digital technology. In 2000 he started and became the studio manager of the Interactive Institute, Umeå Studio, Tools for Creativity. Furthermore, he was responsible for evaluation and analysis of the IT situation at Umeå University and then coordinator of the group that drew up the IT strategy, still valid at Umeå University. He worked in the university's IT group for several years as coordinator of various types of evaluation, analysis and concept development and was for about a year IT expert in the County Administrative Board's IT strategy group. He was one of the founders of the company Innovation Impact and is one of the owners. He was the project leader for the Vinnova projects Citizen Centric Public Service in Sparsely Populated Areas, Young and Smart (Young Entrepreneurs) and the project eSpinn – eService platform for the Inland. He was also the Northern Sweden co-ordinator for the Arenovation project – a project on renewal of arenas through e-services and interactive experiences.
